12th International Meeting on Yeast Apoptosis in May 2017

The 12th International Meeting on Yeast Apoptosis (IMYA) will take place in Bari (Italy) between May 14th-18th 2017. It will bring together scientists from around the world to present and discuss results on apoptosis in yeast and its role in stress response, aging, and development. IMYA conferences are characterized by their rather informal atmosphere, which favors the exchange of ideas and discussion of unpublished data. Another well-known hallmark of this meeting is the high participation of students, which potentiates the interaction between senior scientists and younger participants. In fact, a number of grants are available for young researchers to facilitate attending IMYA: for more information, refer to the FEMS fellowships for young scientists. The sessions will cover a variety of topics, including, but not restricted to:
.
– Fungal cell death pathways
– Mitochondrial function and physiology
– Metabolic regulation of cell stress response
– Autophagy/Mitophagy- Protein aggregation and toxicity
– Cellular ageing- Yeast models of human diseases
– Yeast-based drug discovery
– Systems-based model of cell death and ageing processes
– Industrial yeast strain improvement
