The intracellular lipid droplets content has been detected by fluorescence microscopy (A) and fluorimetric analysis (B) after incubation of wild type and mutant cells with the fluorescent lipophilic dye Nile Red (4 μg/ml). The values corresponding to mutant COASY are expressed as percentage of the content obtained in the wild type strain.
