FIGURE 4: Sensitivity to H₂O₂. The cells carrying the wild-type COASY or mutant allele were grown up to exponential phase and incubated for 4h at 28°C or 37°C with the addition of 1 mM and 2 mM H₂O₂.

(A) After the treatment, equal amounts of serial dilutions of cells (10⁵, 10⁴, 10³, 10², 10¹) were spotted onto YP media plus 2% glucose. The growth was scored after 2 days of incubation at 28°C or 37°C.

(B) Viability of wild-type and mutant strains was measured by C.F.U counting after exposure of cell to 2 mM H₂O₂ for 4h.**P < 0.01 (unpaired two-tailed t-test).
